It’s not only a feast for the eyes thanks to cinematographer, Mike Eley, it’s the kind of movie that unearths things in the viewer as it unfolds. It holds a magnifying glass up to our impermanence, the fragility of life, and the relics (both emotional and physical) we leave behind. We exist but for a moment, but the impact we have on others is truly indeterminable and certainly can never be calculated by one’s self. I couldn’t help but think of my sister, Shelley. The veil between the living and the dead is but a slender thread I think. She is forever a part of me. This past week, I was sent her belongings - her Bible and some notebooks. I haven’t been able to look at them. Those were Shelley’s relics.
