I take inspiration from the past to figure out what narratives I want to be told about my community in the future. The Pixar characters that mean the most to me are Joy and Sadness from Inside Out. These two characters truly work together to make life beautiful. I spend a good amount of my free time in bittersweet nostalgia, going through old photos, re-reading journal entries, and talking about wonderful memories. Tapping into these emotions helps me to appreciate and love both the incredible and difficult moments in my life for shaping me.
