Come take a peek inside my little snow globe of tall skyscrapers and the beautiful Chrysler building ❄️😍 I did some quick read about the Chrysler building...and it was once the tallest building in the world for about 11 months until the Empire State building surpassed it in 1931. Its 1047 feet high, 77 floors and has a lobby that is 3 stories tall. It has 3,862 windows and was once the corporate headquarters of the Chrysler corporation from 1930’s to the mid 1950’s. I love the design of the building...it’s the Art Deco building known worldwide and easily recognized. I really didn’t know the history or details of the building...just knew it at a visual level. One of the things 2020 did for me is use my free time to read and research a bit of history of things I’m curious about or illustrating. Also what’s fun is as I sketch I have a little more knowledge and it’s not just about here’s my pic for tomorrow but the illustration becomes more meaningful to me.😍 Have a wonderful day and stay warm everyone! ❄️❄️❤️ . .
