私はバレンタインに恋愛ラブソングはお届けしない
So Valentines is fast approaching. How are you coping?

You won’t hear your typical romantic heterosexual love songs on my radio or playlist this Valentine’s. I’m no anti-romantic. But with so much emphasis placed on a specific type of love, comes pressure and anxiety for many too. Happy for those genuinely happily in love. But for the rest of us? Happiness and love come in so many forms. Society and culture shouldn’t dictate what happiness and love should be for each individual.

Why are so many of us so unsatisfied with ourselves. Why are we forced to feel ashamed of our single/childless status. How can we love ourselves in a world where we are made to feel less-worthy if we don’t adhere to certain standards. Beauty, success, ‘happiness’.

I think the world could do with more self-love songs, more songs of compassion. They’re out there, but they deserve more attention as do celebrations of other forms of love

Music and entertainment have the power to move our minds, our hearts. Let them move and change the society and traditions that rob us of our happiness and wellbeing. sWe are all unique, we are all scarred, we all deserve happiness. Give yourself a big hug this Valentine’s Day. These love songs are for you x
