Today is a Day of Remembrance - a day of observance for the internment of Japanese Americans in the United States during World War II.

On February 19, 1942 Executive Order 9066 was signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The order required the forced relocation and incarceration in concentration camps of 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry.
