I’ve always compared myself to other singers and told myself that I’m not good enough, that I’m not a musician - a major case of imposter syndrome…which I’m trying to get over. Do whatever it is that makes your soul happy and your heart sing and don’t worry about what others think. Since the start of the pandemic I’ve immersed myself in playing the guitar and singing. It’s become one of my favorite things to do, and one of the best meditative practices for me as it allows me to practice using my voice and speaking up for myself - which has always been a struggle for me. Im so completely present while playing, and my mind becomes completely still. This is so vulnerable to share, but also - vulnerability is beautiful. I so often wait for something to be perfect before sharing, but i think we all need to get better at sharing our real ness, our authentic selves - instead of the “perfect” version of ourselves.
