“I was thrilled and honored just now when I received a congratulatory message from @morganfreeman on my 50th Anniversary in the field studying and working to protect orangutans and forests in Borneo. Morgan Freeman was the narrator of the documentary film “Born to be Wild” about Daphne Sheldrick’s @sheldricktrust conservation efforts with African elephants and my rescue and rehabilitation work with orangutans. I shared long, engaging conversations with Mr. Freeman the few times I met him in person. He is a warm, chivalrous person of great intellect with a relaxed, generous, and kind attitude towards life. He loves animals and humankind. One of the greatest compliments I have ever received was at the 2011 premiere of @imax “Born to be Wild” in Los Angeles when Morgan Freeman’s long-term agent said to me “Morgan really likes you!” It’s mutual. I so much appreciate the fact that Morgan Freeman remembered me and congratulated me on my 50 years of work in Borneo! Thank you very much to a great actor and a great man!”
