One of my favorite things about life is that we can choose to change it whenever we want.

You don’t like where you’re going?
How you spend you time?
The company that surrounds you?
The habits you’ve picked up along the way?
You look in the mirror one day and realize you don’t like who you’re becoming?

I think it’s incredible that we have the power to make a decision to change it all.

We can chose to evolve.
How cool is that?

We hear a lot about creating a vision and staying the course but we don’t often talk about how the course can change with every step we take.

A vision can provide clarity, but if held too tightly, it can also result in rigidity.

Redirection, adaptability, and ease are just as important as focus, intention, and perseverance.

Like most things, it’s about striking the right balance for you.

Three years ago, I packed every belonging I could fit into an SUV and drove across the country to Colorado. My original plan was to stop off and stay with my dad for a few months while I finished a work project and prepared to do van life.

Then, I would hit the road. 🚐

Instead, the pandemic hit and Longmont locked down. I decided to scratch my travel plans for the moment and plant some roots with my dad while things blew over.

Fast forward to today and I’m getting ready for my last day of classes at the end of a 6 month massage school journey that I never in a million years would’ve imagined for myself.

Transitional decisions feel like the biggest thing in the world until they’re in your rear view mirror. Then they just become a line in the story of your life—a potential moment for you too look back on and think, “I was true to myself when I made that move/change/decision, and it changed my life.”

You may not be exactly where you thought you’d be at this point but a more important thing to check in with is: Do you like who you are at this point in your life?

If you don’t, the answer is simple.
If you do, then revel in all that you’re becoming, release the timeline, and settle in.
The road changes with every step you take.
How could you ever perfectly plan ahead?
