On cloud nine once again, Gerhard Richter’s ‘Study for Clouds’ realised £11.2 million at #SothebysLondon in the Modern & Contemporary evening sale.

In its first appearance at auction in exactly 20 years, the painting was chased by three room bidders and a further four participants via Sotheby’s representatives on the phone for almost nine minutes.
