So unless a bunch of people unfollow me after this post I somehow have 18k followers now and a lot of you are new so I thought I’d do the thing that people do by introducing myself. My name is Jason Garland Sturgill, if you were curious what the G stood for. I’m from a small town in Southwest Washington near Portland, Oregon where I have lived as an adult since 1998. By that number you can tell I’ve been around for awhile, I’m 46 but have only been drawing for about 12 years. I didn’t draw much when I was a kid and didn’t think that was something that I would ever do. I live with my wife, 12 year old son, a dog rescued from a Korean rescue (@wildheartspdx) and the being that really inspired this whole drawing adventure…our 14 year old scottish fold cat named Cheeto aka #cheetochan. I’m blind in my left eye from a bb gun accident and yes I have seen the Christmas Story. I have Bipolar II, which is different from Bipolar I, and a lot of my personal work revolves around mental health and encouraging others to D̷E̷P͟R͟E͟S͟S͟ ̷I̷O͟N͟! I thrive on travel and have not so secret aspirations of living overseas someday, Japan/Amsterdam/London would be preferable. I do commercial work as well. Some of my clients include Warby Parker, Illustoria, The Quiet Life ( I did the 🤫 icon), and I’ve done all the beer labels for @wolvesandpeople from day 1.
