All hail the Mother! We’ve somehow lost a pillar of San Francisco drag @heklina. The caustic, hilarious Madame of SF Drag, the creator of #Trannyshack aka #Mother, which sprang from the Bay Area hippie/theater/punk/performance art ethos of the #Cockettes and #AngelsOfLight. She was also my great companion in the first months of the lockdown in Palm Springs. We shared hand sanitizer, made lockdown zoom shows, watched Golden Age Hollywood films, and generally had a damn hoot at her lovely Cat City house with her bff/sister/neighbor @clammyfaye. Bless her and her legacy.
