In her most recent work, Tokyo-based artist and VJ Saeko combines inspiration from historical paintings with generative techniques, audiovisual and 3D applications.

“The fun part,” she says, “is that I always get surprising and unexpected results through this style. Before finding this expression, I focused on my personal memories and nostalgia, but I confronted difficulty to share them with others, especially in the digital space.

Using historical paintings is like using a universal language. By looking back at the past, I think about what I can create now and in the future.”
