岡本沙紀さんのインスタグラム写真 - (岡本沙紀Instagram)「Dia dhuit! 🇮🇪🍀 ⁡ 今日の挨拶はアイルランドの言語であるゲール語です🇮🇪 ⁡ 世界遺産シリーズ第三弾はジャイアンツコーズウェイです🧌💎 ⁡ ジャイアンツコーズウェイは、アイルランド北岸の海岸線にある、六角形の柱状節理からなる自然の景観です。これらの柱は、溶岩が急速に冷え固まったときにできた規則的なひび割れに由来します。1986年に世界自然遺産に登録されました。 ⁡ フェリーでブリテン島から北アイルランドの首都ベルファストまで行き、そこからさらに2時間以上バスに乗って行ったのは大変でしたが、長年の念願叶って来訪できてよかったです。 ⁡ “Giant’s causeway” というのは直訳すると「巨人の石道」という意味で、アイルランドの伝説的な英雄フィン・マックールが巨人と戦うために作り上げた道だと言い伝えられているそうです。 ⁡ 現地は風が強く大変寒かったです😂 また巨人用の道だからなのか段差が大きい場所や急に切り立っている場所があり、かなり歩きにくかったです💃 ⁡ Dia dhuit! 🇮🇪🍀 ⁡ Today's greeting is in Gaelic, the language of Ireland: 🇮🇪 ⁡ Third in our World Heritage Site Introduction series is the Giant's Causeway🧌💎. ⁡ The Giant's Causeway is a natural landscape of hexagonal columnar joints on the north coast of Ireland. These columns are derived from cracks formed when lava cooled and solidified rapidly. ⁡ It was a long and arduous way to get there with an all-night ferry ride and two-hour bus trip, but I am glad to be at the place that has been on my wishlist for a long time. ⁡ "Giant's causeway" means "Giant's stone path" in literal translation.
