And so we had a farewell party with everyone from the Kaikai Kiki production studio in Saitama. 30 years ago. I was in a period of intense poverty, being indebted for 12 years to the kind generosity of Mr. Katsushige Suzaki, a landowner in the warehousing business, who let me use his studio called Marunuma Art Residence for free. Many people including Mr. @misteryanen and Yoshikazu Hirata volunteered to help me and even brought me food when I was hungry. Occasionally, when I got paid for my artwork, we would go to this restaurant and order fried rice, dumplings, ramen, and stir-fried miso eggplant, and we would all share the food. It was a time when, though we were poor, we persevered, fiercely believing that the future would certainly be better than the present. The simple neighborhood Chinese restaurant, with the taste of that era, has been swallowed up by the stormy waves of the pandemic and the torrent of redevelopment, and is now going out of business. Sadly, April 30 will be their last day of operation. Please, everyone, go visit! Their dumplings are so delicious! Thank you so much for your years of hard work. 😭😭😭 photo: @rkrkrk 大楽亭朝霞台北口店昭和テイストの中華料理屋さん 4月一杯で閉店！という事で、埼玉のカイカイキキ製作工場のみんなで、さよなら会をやりました！ 30年前。丸沼芸術の森というただでアトリエを貸してくれていた須崎勝茂さんと言う倉庫業の土地持ちの人に12年間お世話になってた激烈貧乏時代。ミスター @misteryanen や平田くんらがボランティアで手伝ってくれて、かつ、ひもじい僕に食物まで運んできてくれてた時代。たまーに画料が入ると、この店に行って、チャーハンと餃子とラーメンと味噌茄子炒めを注文して、みんなで分けて食べてました。貧しかったけど、未来は今より絶対に良くなるハズ、と信じて耐え抜いた時代。その時代の味がする、素朴な街の中華料理屋さんも、pandemicの荒波と、再開発の激流に飲み込まれて、廃業との事。残念ですが、4月30日まで営業してるとの事なので、みんな、行ってやってください！餃子が美味しいです！大楽亭朝霞台北口店の庵野秀明似のマスターいといさん！お疲れ様でした。 😭😭😭」4月27日 4時47分
