The detailed narrative scenes on this sixth-century Chinese object represent moments in the life of the Historical Buddha as well as the Realms of Existence, a symbolic map of the Buddhist world. The @smithsonian3d team scanned and imaged the object, letting anyone in the world study it in unprecedented detail.
