To fix all of this, between the 24th and 26th December, Chumbivilcanos settle their agreements with public fist fights.⁠ ⁠ Social status is suspended on these days: the boss fights the employee, the waiter the merchant, the sisters each other. People of every age – from small children to old people – and gender can participate. It's all part of what the locals called Takanakuy. Which, in the Quechuan language, means "to hit" (Takar) "reciprocally” (Nakuy).⁠ ⁠ Unlike a court trial however, there is no clear winner.
