Hamnet worked as a model for numerous artists throughout her life and her own experience as an artist’s model undoubtedly enabled her to capture the character and personality of her sitters so well. The artist was openly bisexual and her paintings give us a glimpse into the intimate relationships she forged during her life as part of Paris and London’s avant-garde communities.
