There were no tornado sirens to give them fair warning, but her family was able to take cover and stay safe until it passed. She had a distinct memory of seeing an ‘ice cream’ truck appear after the storm while her family was outside assessing the damage. Little did she know at the time, it was a Red Cross emergency response vehicle providing resources to those impacted. Later on in life, Jenelle went on to work for the Red Cross and deploy to disasters all around the world to help people recover.
