It is the oldest motorcycle magazine and was first published in 1923. So this year is exactly its 100th anniversary. I think it is probably the 3rd or 4th oldest monthly magazine in Japan. The best thing about motorcycles is... they are fun from the moment you get on them. Just like the joy of wearing something different for different occasions, the best thing about a motorcycle is that you can have fun when you ride it. But really, it’s the same with clothing in terms of my relationship with fashion. It might be also similar in that you can project your own “personality” and personal preferences onto it. In the 90s and 2000s, the culture of “street bikes” became popular in Japan. In the old days, people used to be able to park their bikes in front of Laforet Harajuku on the street. So everyone dressed up a little that day. ALPHA has a history, right? I think there were a lot of changes before it was recognized as “street wear” and there would be technique backed up with experience. When I wore Alpha item, I thought it was great because it had long sleeves. It’s great when you ride a motorcycle.
