The excellence listeners experience when hearing the “Thriller” album is directly a result of a last-minute production decision Michael made.  He was not happy with the mixes of the songs which were to be delivered to CBS Records for the imminent album release. Instead, Michael asked the record label to pause, and he and the production team started mixing the songs again, completing two new mixes a week until finished with all the songs.
