Mark Wahlberg's favorite nighttime read has been removed from a number of the state's elementary and middle schools because it contains so much "vulgarity and violence".⁠ ⁠ Last year, Utah's Republican state government passed a law banning books with "pornographic or indecent" content. Unsurprisingly, under that state government, "indecent" has mostly meant titles that highlight LGBTQ stories, or that discuss issues of race and identity.⁠ ⁠ Now, however, Christianity’s horniest fanfic has taken the hit. In March, a parent wrote to the Davis School District, pointing out that the Bible contains “incest, onanism, bestiality, prostitution, genital mutilation, fellatio, dildos, rape, and even infanticide”. They added: “Get this PORN out of our schools... If the books that have been banned so far are any indication for way lesser offenses, [the Bible] should be a slam dunk.”⁠ ⁠ The school district determined that while the Bible can remain on high school shelves, it needs to be kept from kids in younger grades.
