After breakfast, we left Karanga and hit the junction which connects with the Mweka Trail. We continued up to the Barafu Hut. At this point, we had completed the South Circuit, which offers views of the summit from many different angles. Here we made camp, rested, enjoyed dinner, and prepared for the summit day. The two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo are to be seen from this position. The air was thinning and we had to take a 3 hour nap between lunch and dinner, then sleep from 7Pm until 10:30pm when they woke us up so we could start our final ascent to the top!!!
