I try to exist in a stay and play nature in my daily life. That’s a space that making music allows for. I felt a lot of pressure to be hyper-masculine when I was starting out. I was told many times that I sing, look and act too much like a woman. I never understood why that was a bad thing. I wrote a pop song called ‘Gay Man’ about being pansexual and playing with gender. At my core, I hope to stretch beyond any labels placed on me. As I write more songs, I discover more pieces about me and my queerness.
