"I always start a new work of art by making plans in my sketchbook. I think of a few words or ideas that inspire me, then I draw or write until I have a plan that I feel excited to try. Next, I gather the materials I want to use. I make my studio a fun and calm place to work by listening to music or podcasts and making a big pot of tea.
