May was magic: four weeks of pumping surf across the Americas.
By the first week of June, many surfers were spent. Sleepwalking. Many couldn’t remember one swell over another ’cause they all ran together in a kind of, well, dream. ‘Course by June 15th, relationships mended, boards fixed, wetsuits dried, everyone started looking for the next one.
The wait would turn out to be longer than any of us would hope for.
