After a great year of fencing and feeling like my old self again, I wasn’t able to put it all together at the World Championships. Walking away from Worlds far short of my goals hurts but the sting of defeat is a reminder of how much I love this sport. If there isn’t dismay in losing, there also isn’t joy in victory.
