Thirty years ago this month, @KDLang and @シンディ・クロフォード's razor-sharp VF cover hit newsstands.

Crawford looked back on the photo shoot this week, writing, "Herb called me the night before to see if I wanted to be part of this shoot, which was considered a bit risqué at the time — challenging gender stereotypes. Still one of my favorite cover shoots, I’m so proud to have been part of it."

"An overwhelming honor for me," Lang also wrote on Instagram. "And I believe with time, has proven to be a important piece of art. Deeply grateful."
