We have dealt with them properly and transparently, to maintain our high standards of integrity and propriety, and to protect and strengthen your trust in the government and in the Singapore system. We have a full agenda ahead. DPM @lawrencewongst and the 4G team have embarked on the Forward Singapore exercise and held dialogues with thousands of Singaporeans over the past year. The goal of Forward Singapore is to refresh our social compact, to work with every citizen to collectively forge a vision of the Singapore that we seek to create, and chart how we can turn our dreams into reality. One major aspiration of Singaporeans is housing. We must ensure public housing is accessible and affordable for Singaporeans of all income groups, and keep our housing schemes fair and inclusive. This is my government’s commitment to you, and we will deliver on it. We are also making special efforts to serve a rapidly ageing population. Beyond physical infrastructure, we will improve community spaces and enhance programmes that keep seniors well in their golden years. We have progressively enhanced the CPF system, and are also providing targeted assistance to lower-income workers. The Forward Singapore agenda covers much more: How to equip our people with the skills to learn and succeed throughout life; how to better care for the vulnerable; and how to deepen our solidarity and Singapore spirit. I have every confidence the 4G team will work closely with Singaporeans to take the country forward, together. This National Day, as we look back on how far we have come, we can also look forward with hope. The best chapters of the Singapore story are yet to be written.
