I feel I need to refresh this house to make myself at home because I feel I'm different since the last time I was here. I mean, literally I was cured and reborn. The crystals and stones I brought from all over the world in 30 years were purified with salt water and sunlight. I felt Rudy was around. That strange thing weighing down with a shovel, stone, and carpet to straighten is a painted mask I made on a dry palm leaf on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1998, lived in Brooklyn, then moved to Kyoto in 2014. It's my 25 years of history. The other day, I saw it hanging crooked at the upstairs Hohohoza bookstore, and I brought it home. From now on, my old friend, this is your new home. It was also fun to open my old toolbox, which I haven't looked through for at least 10 years. Not just looking back on this amazing traveling summer, but I'd want to reflect on my more extended period of years for a while. Oh, is Mercury retrograding now? 8月半ば、久しぶりに京都の「実家」に帰ってきてからずっと大掃除をしている。きっとこの3年半の間に自分は生まれ変わったんだろう。(確かに、一度死にそうになって生き返ったわけだけど)だから、ここもゼロに戻さないと落ち着かなかった。 30年ほどの間に世界のあちこちからここに集まった水晶も石も、塩水と光で浄化。るーちんの気配も感じる。スコップと石と絨毯で重しをして平らにした妙なモノは乾いた椰子の葉に顔を描いたお面。1998年にハワイ島で作ってブルックリンで暮らして2014年京都にやってきた。25年のわたしの歴史でもある。ホホホ座2階の入り口にひん曲がってぶら下がっていたのを連れて帰ってきて直してあげた。今日からここが君の家だよ。そして10年ぶりにホコリかぶった古い道具入れを開けてみたのも面白かった。最高だったこの夏の旅の思い出を振り返るだけじゃなく、しばらくの間、少し自分の過去の年月を振り返る作業をしてみたいな。おー、水星逆行の気分満々ってことか。 #下條庵　#ShimojoAn」9月3日 23時00分
