They need it for healthy communities & housing, jobs in a regenerative economy, nutritious food systems, recharging its natural water sources, and growing trees or crops that act as firebreaks. It is why so many Lahaina residents are calling for the return of wai. According to their website, the Commission on Water Resource Management says they will be holding a meeting on September 19th, one of its first public meetings since reassigning Deputy Director Kaleo Manuel for no good reason.
