We were united in tragedy and, as the reality of what was happening slowly became clearer and the beautiful, resilient city of New York came together in a way that feels like a distant dream during our current time of polarization. We honed in on the responsibility of keeping alive the stories of all who have fought, in ways big and small, for the incredible freedom we have in our country. We will never forget the sacrifices of 9/11. We will never forget all those who have struggled and suffered for the sake of making our country a place where ALL are welcome, no matter their background or beliefs.
