Reflecting on what he watched on TV the morning of the September 11th World Trade Center attack, Thornton Dial’s semi-abstract drawing “9/11: Interrupting the Morning News” is composed of a pile of tangled lines—some whipping about like flames, others hard and angular, suggesting a fragmented structure—with faint faces of lives lost peering through the thicket of lines.
Today, 22 years later, we remember all that was lost on September 11, 2001. We love you, New York, now and always. ❤️
