It is vast, wild and peaceful - we hardly saw a soul on our hikes and it felt like we had the mountains to ourselves! The dream ✨ 🥾 Hike: There’s SO many epic trails in the region. I warn you that they aren’t for the faint hearted. Most hike are pretty spicy, here are our faves: ➡️ Smutwood Peak (the best!) ➡️ East End of Rundle ➡️ Elbow Lake to Tombstone Lakes ➡️ Tent Ridge Loop (Note: many of these trails are scrambles, please ensure you’re prepared & are staying within your limits) 🌊 Swim: We swam every day, it’s beautiful but the water is glacial and rather chilly. ➡️ Spray Lakes ➡️ Buller Pond (our fave) ➡️ Tombstone Lakes ➡️ Lower & Upper Kananaskis Lakes Tbh most hikes go past a lake and they’re almost all swimmable so just pack your swim gear every day! 🚗 Travel: You definitely need a car to get around and access the trailheads. Ideally one which is suitable for unpaved roads. We rented a Jeep. 🏨 Stay: We stayed at @mountengadine lodge in their glamping tents. The accommodation is lush, the food is delicious and the location is ideal. Lots of trails start right from your doorstep. If the lodge is full, Canmore is the nearest town or there’s a few options in Kananaskis Village.
