第二章
続いて、久しぶりの大作。
このインスタレーションも、皮なめしの干し方を参考にした。
生命の命を奪うと同時に新たな命を吹き込む皮なめしは、菌類と全く同じ哲学を持っていると思って作製にあたった。

Chapter 2
Next, one of my major works that I haven't made in a long time.
This installation is based on the process of drying tanned hides too.
I began production thinking that the process of tanning, which removes life and at the same time breathes new life into it, has exactly the same philosophy as that of fungus.

メキシコの生命の樹からインスピレーションを得て、
対極で、表裏一体の世界を表現することにした。
四角い顕微鏡を覗くと、生命体が細胞の中から現れる。
共存する生き物たちは、菌類を通して記憶を伝達している。
その菌類は、生命をつなげると共に、生そのものを食い尽くす。
沈黙と再生が続く中、音のない対話は繰り返され、物語はやがて生命の森となる。
Inspired by the Mexican tree of life, I decided to create a world that is opposite yet inextricably linked.
Looking through a square microscope, several lives emerge from within cells. These inner lives coexist, transmitting their memory through fungi.
This mold bind life together, but also devour it.
As silence and rebirth continue, the soundless dialogue repeats itself, and the story finally becomes a forest of life.
