サッシャ・ディギーリアンさんのインスタグラム写真 - (サッシャ・ディギーリアンInstagram)「About a year ago, Lynn Hill invited me in on this idea to check out the potential of a multi pitch line on the Maiden feature in the flatirons. Over the course of the next couple months, we climbed to the top of the feature and rappelled down, scoping out where the line could go - identifying the natural features - finagling our way in to the wall from near 45 degree angles hundreds of feet up. We submitted a permit to bolt the line we identified to the @flatironsclimbingcouncil and then began the real work — full days of high angle construction work essentially! We started with developing the first pitch and made our way up the steep and exposed wall, while testing out moves and realizing we were tackling something quite hard. I tore my a2 pulley in march, so it was a nice way to still spend big days outside in the vicinity of climbing, and have a big outdoor objective that I could work on while not being able to use one of my fingers. At the beginning of the summer, we started the climbing process. It was clear that the climb was becoming possible. Then I blew out my LCL on the final moves of the 3rd pitch. Finally healed from injury and after spending the second half of the summer mostly grinding away in the gym to get back to climbing shape, I returned from my wedding and my book tour, and got back to the climb with Lynn. Yesterday I completed the ground up First Ascent of Queen Line, a 3 pitch climb that consists of 250ft of mostly 5.13+ incredible flatirons climbing.
