BDSM is still highly taboo in conservative South Korea, but you can still find it if you know where to look.⁠

@shadeseoul’s The Sins party, known for its BDSM shows, launched in 2018. “Those who have come to the Sins party have been given an insight into [BDSM] and the freedom to explore after,” Shade Seoul’s co-founder @ligrye told VICE. ⁠

With a focus on techno and industrial music, the party is also a “response to a need for a space for people to experience harder sounds”. “We wanted to show ideas of BDSM, but not say definitively that this is BDSM.
