Now, in response to the public sick-ups, some brunch spots are charging "vomit fees" on top of the cost of unlimited booze. ⁠ ⁠ Oakland-based Kitchen Story is one of these restaurants—but since posting the warning sign about the extra vomit fee, co-owner Chaiporn Kitsadaviseksak said that the restaurant hasn’t had to charge. "It was really tough cleaning. People were scared with COVID. And this was happening a lot. My workers don't want to do that. It got better. Now [customers] know they have to pay.
