シーン・マコールさんのインスタグラム写真 - (シーン・マコールInstagram)「Being part of these Major Games as a part of @teamCanada and @climbCanada has been an absolute thrill and privilege. I am so blessed to be surrounded by like-minded high performance athletes striving to achieve their best performances. Not only in climbing, but talking to the other athletes, staff, coaches, medical, and everyone else I met these Games have been such good experiences. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My favourite part, besides climbing of course was sitting in our Team Canada house watching the other sports with a steady flow of athletes from those other sports filtering through. I learned "everything" about Taekwondo, Diving, Gymnastics, Cycling, and a smattering of other sports. It's amazing meeting these elite athletes and talking shop 🔧! I alsp did my fair share of climbing teaching which I love, and I'm happy the other athletes are also interested in the sport I fell in love with. ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The finals were hard in more ways than one. My fall from the top of M4 put forth a series of events that I can only describe as the biggest challenge of my climbing career. My eyes swell with tears just thinking and writing about it. In short, I cracked a rib on landing, and then did everything I could to make it to the finish line. There was fear, tears, pain, doubt, tape and ice but perseverance and stubbornness eventually prevailed. I did climb my route, in whatever capacity I could. It wasn't perfect with the ever increasing pain but it wasn't bad either. I'm proud of what I did, and I will still leave these Games with a sense of accomplishment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ More to come in the following days. Thank you to my teammates, coaches, medical staff, support staff, and COC staff. You all made this trip incredible in multiple ways. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📸 by @lenadrapella #santiago2023 #climbing #teamcanada」10月24日 23時15分 - mccollsean
