Hearing your familiar low-pitched, resonant voice on the podcast made me jump back through time and space, and many memories flashed through my mind. You really have such an amazing voice. The content of the podcast was very interesting and undoubtedly refreshing for young artists and gallerists to hear. It’s true, the art industry today has become something like a luxury business—it’s all about sales, sales, and more sales (I know, I know, I shouldn’t talk)—so it feels nostalgic to think back to the times when you started the gallery when people would actually look at each artwork and discuss with gallerists, "What is art?” as they carefully considered their purchases. And how you said it should still be possible to create such an environment even now (though maybe I’m interpreting your comments liberally) truly spoke to my heart. One of the little anecdotes with Jeff that I remember is how Mark Grotjahn came to be represented by the gallery. At some poker game, Jeff happened to sit at the same table as Grotjahn and they played until the morning. Afterwards, Jeff asked, "What do you do?" and Mark said, "I'm an artist." The next day, Mark brought some drawings with him and said, “This is what I make.” …this is all that fits within the word count limit of an Instagram post. Dear Mr. Jeff Poe,

I listened to your podcast yesterday after an acquaintance told me about it.

https://www.thebaerfaxtpodcast.com/e/jeff-poe/

I was glad to hear your voice, which I remember fondly, and that you are doing well.
Having heard that you had left the gallery, I had been wondering how you have been, what you have been up to since.

Afterwards, Jeff asked, "What do you do?" and Mark said, "I'm an artist." The next day, Mark brought some drawings with him and said, “This is what I make.”
