These pens have quickly become some of my favorite tools when handlettering cards, whether it’s for Punkpost or snail mail for friends/family! What I love about the Koi Coloring Brush pens is that I can easily create bold and expressive letterforms, and I can achieve thick and thin contrast while still maintaining control of the brush. The colors are so great, too. They have all of the basic colors, but enough additional colors to create unique and trend-forward palettes. I like using the lighter colors for detail and striking through words for some texture. For longer messages and the majority of my smaller writing, Microns are my go-to pen. It’s fun to experiment with the different sizes as needed. Because a lot of the art and lettering I make leans on the bigger/bolder side, I really get a lot of use of the 08, 10, and 12 sizes.
