(don’t worry I will still post anyways about coaching 😂) We won so much during all season, I didn’t even celebrate all the great accomplishments we have done as a team. All World Cups so successful and World Champs were the cherry on top of the cake. We were so ready to win PanAms. We worked very hard, and very well. I knew we were ready. But every team in the world wants to win, every athlete wants to go to the Olympics. Congratulations to @artswimmexico, I know your story now and I know you have been chasing this dream even longer than we did, so I’m happy for you. It was a great battle and I honor this fight. I always thought that rivals are the best teachers, we made you improve from Worlds, we became your carrot to bite and now it’s your turn to teach us and we will improve because of you. I will repeat over and over that the journey is the real MVP, proud of the epic saga we’ve crafted all season with @artswimusa, not only for us but for all the people that have been inspired by it. -take a pause to celebrate this right now and continue…- I would lie if I say I’m not hurt by the silver at PanAms, and that I will just come back stronger, I honestly felt much stronger after winning all the medals at world champs 3 months ago 😂 We are lucky to have another chance next February in Doha, but anyways I know before feeling reinforced and hungry you need to feel heartbroken and that’s still how I feel right now. I gave myself a week to cry and take notes, but after that, stand up and go for it again. So that’s what I’m doing, recovering, reflecting and charging my batteries to give my team what they deserve: a coach who will rise no matter how many times we stumble, endure, unyielding in the face of every fall.
