The outdated Safe Drinking Water Act hasn’t added a single regulated chemical since 2000, and the criteria for determining the potential harm of a chemical at specific levels have remained unchanged since 1974. 😳 WHAT?! We are constantly exposed to compounds that we know are detrimental to us…🧪 The most concerning and known contaminants in our tap water include lead, mercury, chlorine, pharmaceuticals, herbicides, pesticides etc. And those are just the ones we know of… yikes. 🤒 After my cancer diagnosis in 2015, I researched everything & changed everything about my lifestyle. But when I did the deep dives on what’s really going on out there, I found some pretty ugly stuff. 🚿 We can filter our drinking water as much as we want, and that’s better than nothing of course, but I get concerned about what we’re showering in too… because our skin absorbs 60-70% of what we we expose it too.
