Unlike their more complex relative, the pickle stand, single pickle dishes could be easily moved about the table.   This pickle stand was made of more than seventy-two elements. Each element was individually formed from a refined clay called porcelain, and then decorated with cobalt blue, covered with a clear glaze, and fired at a high temperature.
