Some people don’t like sharing their birthday with a holiday, but I’ve always liked it. My mom has been organizing a Friday Thanksgiving for the last ten years, so my sister, my stepbrothers and I can all do Thanksgiving with our in-laws on Thursday with no conflicts. Then our family gets together the following night. That night doubles as my birthday party every year, which means I’m always surrounded by family on my big day (or very close to it) and I never have to plan it. I’m so thankful for you, Mom!
