The blessed month of Ramadan is underway. As we observe the fast, it is important for us to be generous and remember the needy. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the most generous during the month of Ramadan (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). The crisis in Syria has left 6.8 million people, mainly women, children and elderly, in need of assistance. Our help is needed. The Zakat Foundation has spent more than $8 million on free medical care, mobile homes and food packages for internally displaced people (IDP) in Syria and refugees in the region. During Ramadan, with our help, the Zakat Foundation will feed and house Syrian refugees and IDPs.
Though there are different donation levels, with $10 feeding a family for a day and $300 housing a family for a month, any donation is greatly appreciated!! Good deeds are multiplied during this month. We should treat this Ramadan as if it is our last!
