Last weekend after #TEDWomen, teams of coders gathered for a two-day hackathon. Hosted by Twitter, Chime for Change, and Women Who Code, the goal was to create mobile apps that generate positive impact for girls and women around the world.

Five teams were awarded cash prizes to continue developing their ideas. Winners included an app for Riders for Help which lets medical workers in rural Lesotho efficiently plan their routes; another app gamified a UNICEF fundraising program, while others helped women enhance career skills, facilitated connections between women leaders and built awareness.
