#wwbchristmascontest 2nd round finalist @louspichtig about herself : My name is Lou Spichtig and I'm sixteen. I'm currently studying at the Tanzakademie Zürich in Switzerland and will be a part of the graduating class of '15. I can't say that I look up to one dancer in particular, I always watch my classmates or other dancers & dance students (especially on youtube) to find inspiration. However I often catch myself watching videos of Evgenia Obraztsova because she is a true artist and moves me to tears in every single performance. I hope to one day dance in a company where I can perform the great classical ballet repertoire along with new contemporary creations. Like everyone, I dream of being a part of one of the greatest companies of Europe: The Royal Ballet, The Opéra de Paris (I'm half French, so it is my childhood dream), Het Nationale Ballet or the Bayerisches Staatsballett München and so on. Of course I'm aware that my goals may be slightly unrealistic, but I mostly hope to get a contract when I graduate, without being turned down by too many companies. Last spring, I was among the lucky students of the Tanzakademie Zürich who were chosen to compete at the Youth America Grand Prix New York City Finals! To everyone's surprise (and mostly to my own), I was awarded the Gold Medal in the Senior Division and the Dance Europe Magazine Outstanding Artistry Award. I travelled to the competition without an ounce of self-confidence, going up against great dancers like Miko Fogarty, Katherine Higgins, Rachel Richardson, Scout Forsythe and so many more, I was sure I wouldn't make it to the Final Round anyways. I came back a stronger person and more importantly a stronger artist, because I had the chance to be inspired and to dance alongside such seasoned veterans and beautiful dancers. Remember! 1 like = 1 vote!! ?☺️ #louspichtig #wwbchristmascontest2ndround ?
