While hiking into Castlewood Canyon for a day of climbing, Tom Hanson inadvertently down climbed into an awaking den of hibernating rattle snakes. Surrounded on all sides and with no way to safely climb out he was delicately rescued by his two friends with a rope and some patience. Shoot on assignment for @rockandicemag 3/2009
