Each route represented a distinct era of the Verdon's long and storied climbing history: one route was from the "Golden Age" of the 1960s, one from the early sport climbing era of the 1970s/80s, and one was more modern, established just a few years ago. It was over 30 pitches of climbing (900 meters), a pitch for each year for his birthday, and it took the team nearly 24 hours to complete. Happy birthday Matt!
