Feels kind of weird but i'm missing NYC so much today because I'm not in my favorite city right now. My most important experience of 9.11.2001 was how NYC transformed after that day. While the whole world was talking about terrorists and the war, I remember most New Yorkers were so caring and trying to heal each others. Our memory of victims and the day taught us a lot. I contributed my personal diary to Japanese Free Paper "Dictionary" from 9.12 to 9.20 because I wanted to tell Japanese people IT IS NOT TRUE THAT ALL NEW YORKERS WANT WAR. Don't believe propaganda, listen to the real people's voices. This is one of many illustrations from my diary : 9.13.2001 at Chelsea Pier Volunteer to Ground Zero ★ 妙な気分だけれども今夜はとてもNYが恋しい。あの街に今自分がいないことが不思議。わたしにとって最も大切な２００１年９月１１日の経験は、あの日からあの街が一つになって行った日々。世界中がテロリストや戦争を口にする中で、ニューヨーカーたちが思いやりを大切にして互いを癒しはじめたこと。犠牲者たちの命から学んだことは計り知れない。桑原茂一氏の意向で、翌日・９月１２日〜２０日までのわたしの日記をフリーペーパー・ディクショナリーが掲載してくれた。ニューヨーカーがみんな戦争を望んでいる、という一般の報道を信じないで、個人の声に耳を傾けて、という想いを日本の友だちに伝えたかった。これは９月１３日・グラウンドゼロへの物資を仕分けするボランティアをした日の絵。 #YuriShimojo #下條ユリ #911
